Hanuman Garhi is one of Ayodhya’s most revered temples, dedicated to Lord Hanuman, the devoted disciple of Lord Ram. Situated in the heart of the city, this 10th-century temple stands atop a hillock and is accessed by climbing 76 steps. According to legend, Hanuman lived here guarding Ayodhya after Lord Ram’s return to the city. The main shrine houses a child form of Hanuman sitting on Mata Anjani’s lap. Devotees visit Hanuman Garhi before entering Ram Janmabhoomi, as it is believed that darshan here ensures a safe and blessed journey. The temple is especially vibrant during Ram Navami and Hanuman Jayanti.
